The Group

The path that led Fipa Italiana Yachts to achieve a prestigious position in leisure boating at an international level, began in the early 1970’s with the production of the first boats in glass-reinforced plastic, a material which was still too innovative for the majority of the shipyards operating in those times.

In the 1980’s Fipa Italiana Yachts acquired the Maiora brand, already a symbol of state of the art handicrafted production. Maiora found in the Fipa shipyards a excellent opportunity to develop its production and meticulous search for perfection.

In the early 1990’s, the group acquired the historical Intermare shipyard located in the Viareggio harbor, a city where the sea and the marine industry have always spoken the same language. This has allowed the group to offer specialized mechanical support, stainless steel and teak workmanship and docks available to conduct final tests before delivery to the client.

At the beginning of the new millennium, the Fipa group saw in the AB Yachts shipyard, a leading shipyard in the design and construction of fast open yachts equipped with hydrojet propulsion, a natural complement of its own product range. With the AB Yachts acquisition, Fipa group began the renovation of models and expansion of production.

As a result of the increase in the market demands, Fipa Italiana Yachts moved part of the Maiora production to the facility in Massa where thanks to significant space, has both covered and uncovered areas. Fipa Italiana Yachts can now reach an annual production of 40 units, thanks also to the important acquisition of production areas directly on the sea in the port of Viareggio.

Another important leap in the development of the group happened in 2005 with the acquisition of the CBI Navi shipyard, where skills in the construction of metal-hulled yachts are inherent. The Viareggio production areas are now increased with additional access to the sea.

Passion in the construction of boats has always pushed the Fipa Group to take up challenges and succeed in the production of ever larger yachts for ever more demanding customers. The Fipa Group is always in the state of continuous expansion and improvement, and has the capacity to offer boats constructed in glass-reinforced plastic up to 50 m, boats constructed in steel and light alloy up to 80 m, or open boats up to 50 m and to provide services at 360°.
